Thank you! Words fail to express the relief this solution provides.
Imagine my surprise after updating the core framework only to find that 20+ sidebars had systematically disappeared, something I feel should have been made clear initially (there was no option to view a change log on the framework update screen). This plugin saved me hours of work and frustration.
