No coding or design skills are required to embed Amelia into your website. It is easy to customize booking forms to your branding and start accepting bookings professionally while sending confirmations and avoiding double bookings. Configuring Amelia to receive your first appointment through WordPress is a 5-minute job.

3 easy steps to set up Amelia Lite:

  1. Go to your WordPress’ admin page, open Amelia -> Services, and add categories and services, as described here.

  2. Add a shortcode for the desired booking form to one of your posts or pages. For appointments, add [ameliabooking] shortcode, for events add [ameliaevents].

  3. Save it – and that’s it – now customers can book appointments or events from your site’s front-end using Amelia!

Note: You can customize provider details and schedule on the General Settings page.

Important note:  Online payments, integrations, unlimited number of employees, custom notification, multilingual support, and other features are not available in Amelia Lite. Installing Amelia Lite is as easy as 1-2-3!

  • First, either locate the plugin through the WordPress’ built-in plugins browser, upload the ZIP file through WP Admin, or upload the Amelia Lite folder via FTP to your WordPress’ plugins folder on the server.
  • Activate the plugin in the “Plugins” page of your WordPress installation.

as per title This plugin is an example of a great idea - without the implementation!!! They completely miss the basicswith this plugin (super basic- for example you can change the roles of Employee and Customer to whatever you like (Teacher/Student for example) however labels dont reflect across the app. You cannot limit the number of appointments someone makes (for example if you want to give freebies away and limit who books) etc etc... its meant to integrate with other plugins - it Support does not exists- with messages like "great idea, add it as a suggestion" or "it doesnt do that" or "you can ask a developer to do that" (to this effect) No Hooks absolutely no hooks at all, so you;re directed to customise the plugin yourself.. but there is no documentation nor hooks.. dont fall for the make-up.. stick to plugin that does what it says on the tin!

The pitch gave the impression that you could add a booking shortcode which would dynamically use the event TAG. This would allow say, a real estate agent to include a link on a dynamic property showcase page to an open home event for booking - related to that specific property. What the pitch didn't say is that the dynamic tag feature is only in the pro version. Therefore if you want to link a booking schedule to a dynamic page, you need the pro version. An extra star for making it Divi compatible but wasting an hour of my time gets minus 2 stars 🙁

Was handed the Pro version and asked by my client to implement some features that extend the current functionality. The plugin provides no ability for a developer to hook into processes and modify/add behaviours. What you are given is what you get - admittedly fairly flexible - but a dead end if something is either missing or not customizable. In my experience, when extension/plugin/developer apis are missing (or even removed) from a project, it is an indication they intend to to move to a SaaS model. That may not be the case here - but I would hesitate to use the product unless a clear timeline was made public about introducing a developer api, and soon. That api should be flexible enough that an experienced developer should be able to add payment gateways, custom reports, notifications, importers/exporters etc. It would not matter (to me) how rigorous the code would need to be - I'd be happy to be forced to use the existing code model (commands, events, controllers etc within the Slim app) - just please make it available! nb: refund was requested

The plugin has a lot of features shown off in the lite version. Trying to give an impression of what the bought plugin is capable of doing but at the same time annoying the lite user who'll definately not purchase it in its current condition. Settings are just a maze, you're looking for that one thing and have to go off all settings just to see everything greyed out. Setting a time slot for each day of the week, results in seeing a new customer being able to make an appointment from 0:00-0:00. It just doesn't work the way you expect it to and frustrates the hell out of you, a big no from me.
