  • プラグイン設定

  1. Upload the plugin folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. WordPress の「プラグイン」メニューからプラグインを有効化してください
  3. Define your footnote terms under the footnote menu item in the administration interface. The title of the page should be the term. The body content should be the definition.
  4. Create a main footnote page (example “Footnote”) with no body content if you wish to. If you do not create this page then your terms will still be highlighted but there will not be a central listing of all your terms.
  5. In the plugin’s dashboard preferences, enter the main footnote page’s id (optional as above)
  6. There are a handful of other optional preferences available in the dashboard.

Note: You must have a call to wp_head() in your template in order for the footnote js and css to work properly. If your theme does not support this you will need to link to these files manually in your theme (not recommended).

Updated: I have the free version of CM Footnotes. I created three blog posts, each with its own footnotes. I was dismayed to find that the footnotes for the latest post had also been applied to the previous articles. That should not have happened. Support for the free verion through the forum was quick, excellent and resulted in a bug being diagnosed, fixed and a new release is being rolled out. This plugin now does what it says on the side of the tin, and I am very happy with it. I am also very pleased with the support I received. I will upgrade to the pro version when the roll-out of the new release has been completed.
I'm using this on a volunteer site that includes the text of a book with lots of footnotes. Works great and is relatively easy to use. Looks very professional on the site.

I installed this plugin and it worked out of the box even if when I click on the little number of a footnote, the page sends me to the anchor but too far below the place where the footnotes are on the page. So you're looking everywhere trying to see the footnotes, but they are a bit higher, and you have to schroll back up a little. That's a bit weird, but I'm guessing you cannot fix that (unless you buy Pro and contact support). Plus, I thought it was sneaky to put this little promo link that says "Powered by CreativeMinds WordPress Plugin CM Footnotes" below the footnotes, which encourages you to buy the Pro version if you want that removed. I thought that was really nasty, and made me not buy the Pro version and prompted me to give it a 4 stars instead of 5. Post scriptum: I actually tried to remove a star after I gave it 4 stars, but the system would not let me do that.
Just wrote a long explanation about why but lost connectivity. Sorry, don't have time to repeat, basically I wanted to cite the source of a statistic (0.70) and didn't work. Use Tooltips for definitions, not footnotes.
I installed this plugin and had an issue with it, the problem was solved within hours and I'm now upgrading to the pro version for the extra features. Excellent plugins with outstanding service.. Thanks guys..
